Packed with clean fruit, supported by gentle wooding and a lingering finish, this wine is an absolute beauty. One of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, the Decanter World Wine Awards, recently awarded it with a Silver Medal!
Having practically run out of the very popular Almenkerk Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Almenkerk have since released our 2010 Sauvignon blanc (R90 cellar door). This is a complex wine; with aromas ranging from greener to tropical. Extended time on the gross lees (sur lie) assures a broad mouthfeel with a long finish. Thelema white wines coming from their farm in Elgin called Casey's Ridge have done quite well at some of the recent competitions. 2011 Kogelberg Chenin blanc (Single vineyard) – Gold Michelangelo 2012, Silver IWSC 2012l – 2011 White Mischief – IWSC Silver 2012; 2011 Casey's Ridge Sauvignon blanc – IWSC Silver 2012; and 2011 Barrique (Semillon / Sauvignon blanc) – Silver IWSC 2012, Classic Wine Trophy for top 6 White Blends.

Winters Drift's Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and Chardonnay 2011 won 2 Michelangelo silver medals, an IWSC silver outstanding medal with their Chardonnay 2011, an IWSC silver medal with their Rose 2011, an IWSC Bronze medal with their Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and a Veritas Silver medal with their Chardonnay 2011.

5 Nations Trophy (held between Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Argentina): Paul Cluver was awarded Double gold for their Chardonnay 2011. Platter Guide 2013: Noble Late Harvest 2011 was awarded 5 stars and also White Wine of the Year (Unfortified Dessert Wine). Nedbank Green Awards 2013: BWI Wines Best Wine Overall – Noble Late Harvest 2011.
